Rene G. Boscio Gonzalez english Imprimir

He was the winner of the scholarship granted by the Rudy Pérez Foundation through the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) as the overall most talented student in the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music.
René G. Boscio, a novel Puerto Rican composer and resident of Aguadilla, was born in Moca in 1988. His interest in music began to develop at age eleven when he began studying and playing the drums, though he soon switched over to study and practice electric, electro-acoustic, and acoustic guitar at age twelve. In his early adolescence, he discovered a natural talent for composing original music. Upon realizing that he lacked formal preparation in composition and music theory, he decided to take action to refine his skills. He applied, auditioned, and was accepted into the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in the summer of 2008. He is currently making outstanding progress in his academic formation and musical training, specialized in music composition, under the guidance of the distinguished Puerto Rican pianist and composer Alfonso Fuentes.

In addition to his numerous, significant, still budding academic works interpreted by his instrumentalist classmates, René G. has an impressive repertoire of popular pieces with lyrics in Spanish and English as well as electronic music. He has also set to music the poetry of three published Puerto Rican authors by request. His composer side is complemented with his public presentations of his most popular works as well as those of other distinguished composers. He has also been part of various local music groups. Among the over twenty stages on which René Gerardo has interpreted his repertoire accompanied by his guitar must be noted the Centro de Bellas Artes in Aguada as the opening act at a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Tommy Torres concert; Berklee College of Music in Boston; Hard Rock Café in San Juan; Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in Miramar; the Bahia Festival in Aguadilla; University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez and Aguadilla Campuses; and the Claycup Theater in Guaynabo.

Furthermore, René has just published his first book of compositions titled “Small Works for Piano,” now available for purchase.
