CEMCA is the first and only center in Puerto Rico created with the purpose of promoting entrepreneurial education in the field of music and the arts in general. This new model in the formation of musicians and professional artists is focused from the perspective of the business of art.

CEMCA comes into being as an initiative of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music with the financial support of CulturArte of Puerto Rico. The impact of the digital revolution has dramatically transformed the way in which audiences enjoy the arts and entertainment. Similarly, the new artistic and musical scenarios have required a transformation in a musician’s traditional formation.

It is no longer enough to have talent and excellent musical education. In order to be successful in a highly competitive and commercialized world, musicians must acquire the information and skills essential to self-management with which they will know how to promote and administer themselves, and be entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial education in the arts is still in its first stages worldwide. With CEMCA, the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, known for its avant-garde trajectory, has paved the way for a new era in the professional musician’s world, benefiting musicians and students of music in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
